Hopefully I will transcribe the most relevant parts of this at a future time. For now, I would ask the reader to pay attention from the last paragraph in the second column: what follows is a cynical, almost mechanical deconstruction of the “terrorists” (“securisti-teroristi”) from separating their initial identification with the Securitate, to isolated groups of Securitate people almost no longer tied to the institution, to unidentified “terrorists,” to Securitate narratives as to who they were (anybody but the Securitate), to the “terrorists” as mere myth and “legend” characterized by “the ingredients of cheap theatrics”…almost as if to tongue-in-cheek highlight and extol the success of Securitate disinformation, already then, less than five years after December 1989. (I was surprised in doing a google search, to seemingly not find this portion of the SRI Report from 1994 online. Hence, my decision in refinding it, to post it)
