Within many of the documents in Dosarul Revolutiei, there lies a micro-history, an often moving personal story. Here one can palpably feel the urgency of Gheorghe Andrei, as he tries in vain, apparently, to get the military prosecutors to conduct an investigation into the living quarters of a former Securitate Lt. Col. Grigore Costingioara, from where Costingioara and his son were suspected of firing on the TV station in December 1989. Why? Because they are renovating the location to “remove traces” of their counterrevolutionary activity. One can only wonder, how many times similar things transpired in early 1990? How many people saw the cover-up in train, and either wanted to say something or feared saying something? This Gheorghe Andrei tried.
