Dosarul Revolutiei. The Past is Coming (46).

Back in December 1989, and in the immediate aftermath, people knew, people remembered: the weapons of the “terrorists”–at least the professional ones among them–were different. They sounded different than those of the Army. We have already seen in this series numerous cases of military recruits and officers, and even Militie and Securitate personnel, mentioning this difference. It was obvious to all. Some, such as the military officers, were able to make very educated guesses about the caliber bullets and types of weapons and features of those weapons the terrorists used. But as the following shows, even average citizens, with little to no military training or experience, could distinguish a difference between those who were firing upon those aligned with the Revolution. (The terrorists shot with weapons that made a “plici” sound. This description is very frequent, not just for Bucuresti but for across the country, wherever the terrorists opened fire.) The SPM, and many military prosecutors past and present, not to mention the former Securitate in Vitralii or on Evenimentul Zilei or elsewhere want to gaslight people to believe that what they heard and saw in December 1989 did not happen, or that they misperceived things, or were panicked and confused and “imagined” the terrorists. The following is a pretty matter of fact antidote to the former Securitate’s gaslighting.
